Getting Around Country Club Plaza

Kansas City, Missouri is in the center of the country with easy access from north, south, east, or west. Whether you arrive by car on one of the interstates or highways, arrive by train on Amtrack, or fly in, you will find Kansas City an easy city to get around in.

Within the city, there is very good transportation available for you. You can get around easily using a bus. The city is served by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, Johnson County Transit, Unified Government Transit, and Lawrence Transit System. You can also take a cab using either Checker Cab or Yellow Cab. The KCI Shuttle provides a van that goes from the Kansas City International Airport to various hotels if you have flown into the city.

The Kansas City Metro gives good transportation to area festivals such as the Irish Fest, the American Royal Parade, the Rhythm and Ribs Festival, and the Plaza Art Festival. Metro buses are also popular for getting to some great visitor's sites including downtown to see the ten block area that has been revitalized and now has great shopping, dining, and nightlight and Crown Center which has three levels of things to see and do, and the Country Club Plaza with great shops, restaurants, and fountains.

For those who want to use their bicycle in the city, there are many bike trails that are available for you. This includes both off-pavement trails as well as regular bike trails. For your convenience, the Metro offers bike racks for all 40-passanger and 25-passenger buses which can give you even more options.

If you like to walk, Kansas City, Missouri has some great walking trails for you. Loose Park, Overland Park, and Macken Park have excellent walking trails right in Kansas City. There are also excellent walking trails not far away in Shawnee Mission Park in Shawnee and English Landing Park in Parksville.
